The Team Tendy Lax Experience

More Than Lacrosse

Team Tendy is a program of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and our connection to FCA is primarily expressed through the faith and approach our coaches bring into every training environment. FCA’s core values are woven into our lessons, conversations, and daily interactions as we emphasize integrity, teamwork, serving others, and excellence in all that we do. Our goal is not only to develop better goalies, but to help shape disciplined, confident leaders who are grounded in strong character and faith—on the field and in life.

Our Training Philosophy

High Standards, Intentional Development

As goalies advance, our commitment does not fade. Once goalies reach the collegiate level, they are rewarded with free training—a reflection of our belief in long-term relationships, continued growth, and investing back into athletes who have committed to the next level. Collegiate goalies remain an important part of our community, helping raise the standard and culture of every session.

Meet the Founder

Coach Sean McNamara

Sean McNamara is the Director of Team Tendy Lacrosse, a Kansas City–based goalie training program dedicated to helping athletes reach their full potential—on the field and in life. A former collegiate starting goalie and team captain at Monroe Community College and Randolph-Macon College, Sean brings both high-level playing experience and a deep passion for developing the most impactful position in the game.

With over 20 years of coaching experience across youth, high school, and collegiate lacrosse—including NCAA Division II and III programs—Sean is known for his intense, detail-driven coaching style and commitment to continual growth. His training environments emphasize technical mastery, mental toughness, accountability, and high-rep competition.

McNamara credits several coaches and resources that have shaped his development as a goalie coach, including Jeff Schwartz (St. John Fisher College), GoalieSmith, and countless hours studying educational content through YouTube, the IMLCA, and other coaching resources. However, he believes the greatest growth has come through ongoing dialogue—conversations during games and practices that allow him to learn directly from the goalies he coaches. As the position continues to evolve, Sean believes coaching begins with an open mind, asking good questions, and continually learning alongside the athletes he serves.

Sean knows exactly what needs to be done to produce a great goalie. His attention to detail is what I believe sets him apart. The players are on task 100% of the time working from everything from footwork, stick work, speed and agility, and IQ. With the rapid growth in the game of lacrosse in the area, it has been a challenge finding high quality training for this position.
